5 Design Tips - From Wallpaper to Being Bold
HOW TO USE WALLPAPER
1) Use a large patterned wallpaper to strengthen a space and an unpatterned wallpaper to add texture to a space. A large pattern infuses a space with energy especially if it has colour but even if the colours are quiet, a large pattern on the walls will make the room feel more dynamic. To just add texture to a space a grasscloth wallpaper will add a layer of texture but will be a subtle, softer addition.
WHAT’S THE GOAL - PEACE OR ENERGY?
2) For bedroom serenity use tone on tone. Using colour in quieter tones makes a bedroom feel calm and inviting. The more contrast and brighter the colours the more energy will be infused in the space. Remember to bring in texture to keep it interesting.

PAINT LAST
3) Pick paint colours last. This is one so many people get stuck on. We want to choose our paint colour before we move in or before we have chosen our furniture. The reality is there are so many shades and tones of paint to choose from, it is best to choose all your fabrics etc first. Then you can pull just the right shade and tone out of the fabric for the perfect paint selection.

MULTI PURPOSE WALLPAPER
4) Use leftover wallpaper to line drawers. Think of other ways to use left over wallpaper-lining drawers is just one way. Lining closet shelves or even use a vivid wallpaper as art!
TAKE A CHANCE AND BE BOLD
5) Be Bold-don’t always play it safe. Use colour and see it change the mood of your space!
As you can see, by doing some design evaluation, you can see how mood can be affected by the finishes used in a space. I hope this has given you a few ideas of how you can look at design pictures beyond just a pretty picture.
